Aurora over Hobart
Price range: $45.00 through $198.00
The Aurora Australis, also known as the Southern Lights, is a natural light display visible in the skies of the Southern Hemisphere, similar to the Aurora Borealis in the Northern Hemisphere. It’s caused by solar wind interacting with the Earth’s magnetic field and atmosphere, primarily near the South Magnetic Pole.
Tasmania is often considered the best location in Australia to view the Aurora Australis due to its high southern latitude and proximity to the geomagnetic pole, Braving the cold winters night’s is part of the fun of chasing Aurora’s. This night though the Aurora was so bright that is was visable in the skies above Hobart.
